LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES

These are those activities that increase the leadership traits in our personality and make us more active in leading others in our lives. Let us discuss some of the usual leadership activities which are usually conducted to enhance the leadership quality in a person or group of people.

  1. VOLUNTEERING: It consists of conducting volunteering campaigns in a form of social integration program so that peoples work together with no materialistic motive. They work in groups where each group performs a specific task to make indirect humanitarian benefits for all. Its examples are awareness campaigns and rallies for polio vaccination, the right to education, social reforms, and many more.
  2. SPORT: Besides providing physical and medical benefits to our bodies sports is also a great means of generating leadership traits in people like selflessness in team games, a can-do attitude, and a never-give-up mentality.
  3. INTERNSHIPS: It is also like a volunteer program but here peoples also get more understanding about a particular work-oriented approach. Here groups or individuals are deployed on a work where their main motive is not money they do so just to know more about how a specific work is done professionally and it also gives them leadership enhancements because they have to lead their team also.
  4. PASSION PROJECTS: It gives people a chance to work on any project according to their choice and passion. It also inculcates leadership qualities in them because they have total control over their project where they get to know more about managing others, time management, planning, communicating with new people, etc.
  5. CROSS-CULTURAL EXPERIENCE: It includes introducing ourselves to people from other cultures and social diversities. Here peoples gather from different places and backgrounds they share their life experiences in a way that helps them to connect with others and make different opinions in a group.
  6. SOCIAL GROUP ACTIVITIES: It is something like volunteer activities but here the difference is we are more concerned about social work in combination with leadership activities. Here we go on campaigns where we lead our team members on cultural and social activities like blood donation.
  7. STUDENT/ PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS: Here we integrate different students or professional organizations so that people having different backgrounds interact with each other and lead their teams toward a common goal decided by their organization.
  8. ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES: I recommend this activity as the best activity for developing leadership traits and qualities in any person. Here we send a team on different adventures like mountaineering, trekking, motorcycle expedition, cycle expedition, rock climbing, parasailing, river rafting, kayaking, jungle safari, etc. This motivates the candidate to lead their team in more adventurous and extreme environments besides this candidates also find it an opportunity to explore nature and see the whole world from a new perspective.

Paradigm similar to spiral model, but engineering activity involves components. The system is produced by assembling the correct components. ADVANTAGES: Time and resource conservative.
