RESUME WRITING
A resume is a formal document a job applicant creates to itemize their qualifications for a position.
TYPES OF RESUMES
- CHRONOLOGICAL RESUME: List your work history in reverse order, starting with your current or most recent job and working backward.
- FUNCTIONAL/SKILL-BASED RESUME: Focuses on skills and strengths necessary to employers. Omits specific dates, names, and places. Deemphasizes a spotty work history.
- COMBINATION RESUME: Blends the flexibility and strength of the chronological and skill-based resume.
- INFOGRAPHIC RESUME: An infographic or networking resume is a resume with graphic design elements instead of just text. It uses various design elements of just text. It uses multiple design elements with a focus on the aesthetics of the resume.
- MINI RESUME: It contains a summary of your career highlights and qualifications.
- PROFILE RESUME: A resume profile is a professional summary of your skills, experiences, and goals related to a specific job at the top of your resume. The summary includes a couple of skill and accomplishment-packed sentences with a sales pitch.
- TAILORED RESUME: A tailored, or targeted resume is customized to specifically highlights your experience and skills related to the job for which you are applying. It also uses keywords from the job posting throughout the resume.
